Read that first if you don't have the basics. This is about working for my studio.
If you want in my movies, I prefer actors and actress that have experience so they know the basics of what a movie shoot is like. Or take a non sex role in one of my movies, not everyone can have sex when you are telling a story. My movie shoots are much more demanding than other directors!! I give my best so I expect the best from my actors and actresses.
I no longer have the mindset that I make Porn, I have grown out of it, the capabilities of
Second Life have grow as well, I started making Porn, I now make
Animated Adult Movies, It's a much broader outlook!! Anyone can jump on pose balls, hit record and
bang through a sex menu, then splice it all together with a bunch of
cross fades and put music to it!!! Yes I still will have nudity and sex in my movies, but want to focus on having a story to go equally with it!!
Animations haven't changed much since 2012 but our avatars have and what we can do with them to tell a story.
When I started in porn back in 2011, A porn movie was shoot in 2 hours,
for some edited in 2 hours and then posted online the same day. Those
days are long gone all that would get you now is laughed at. Maybe that
is why there aren't many directors left? I try to push myself to do
something different or something better with each of my 150 movies.
I want to tell stories, I have been telling stories for a while now and won the Sexiest Award for Best Story for my 2014 movie
Legs Wide Spread, The Motion Picture
, one of my fellow female directors proclaimed "Who cares about
stories, it's porn?", Well I Do!! I don't watch animated porn to get
off, that is what real life porn is for, animated porn needs more
substance then that, otherwise there is no point in making it, we need
to be different.
The Real Ghost Hunters is 40 minutes long and the first 10 minutes of it has no nudity, all story.
I said in 2012:
Your
actual acting really only consist of “Stand here”, “Turn this way”,
“Sit on this ball please”, “remove your clothing” and “get ready for
cum”. Now a male has to keep an eye on his cock position, he needs to
tilt it / point it so it’s hitting the hole (same with a woman with a
strap-on). So unless you have someone to talk to it can be very boring.
That
is not the way I do it anymore, "simple" 4 hours movie shoots consist
of 2 hours of story filming and then 2 hours of sex filming. Story
filming; is standing still moving lips, facial expressions, walking,
running, driving. fighting, shooting and whatever it takes to tell the
story, and I do actually plan for that time!!
My film shoot takes 2 to 10 hours (Depending on the complexity of the movie). Intergalactic SLUTS episodes have 3 to 4 sex scenes in a 22 minute
episode, one of those scenes can be shot in 2 hours, but that is about
the only ones. Even the movies I call "simple" usually take 4 hours to shoot. I do shoots in 2 or 2 1/2 hour blocks so you would never be on set longer than that but it might take up to 4 shoots usually spaced 2 days apart so that you can have one day off between shoots.
I take weekends off so a shoot week is between Sunday late night to Friday afternoon. If you can only shoot on weekends then I doubt we will work together. My preferred shoot times are 11am to 4pm SLT and 10:30pm to lam SLT. After 4pm is when my RL comes home and mornings are when I edit movies and work on my blogs.
Thorgal once said about my movies "The lips don't move, it would be better if the lips moved"
And I told him "If the lips moved it would be nearly impossible to have them synced with the sound. Then you would complain that it looks like a Dutch movie dubbed in to English."
Well since
The Real Ghost Hunters 2016 I haven't made a movie with dialog that didn't have moving lips in it. They didn't start out the best but with experience and some luck I think I have a pretty good handle on that and couldn't imagine doing it any other way.
But moving lips come with a price, it takes twice as long to shoot, that is where the movie shoots go from 2 hours to now 4 hours. Intergalactic SLUTS has no dialog so those shoots are still 2 hours each. The editing time triples, using way more clips in shorter time spans.
My movies have actual acting in them, anyone can mesh themselves out and look fantastic and ride pose balls, but I expect more!! I'm not telling this to deter anyone from working with my studio but more to let everyone know what is expected and I look at this as more than just SL Porn. I'm trying to inspire the Actors and Actresses to better as well as my fellow directors to make better movies!!
Most of you have Mesh heads, it's not required yet, I haven't seen anything they do that has persuaded me to get one, but I'm sure one day I will. If you have a mesh head learn how to use it!! You spend all those Lindens on a mesh head and don't know how to make it work?? You're going to have to move it's lips, open it's mouth and the more expressions you can make the better, I just finished Halloween movies and everyone was suppose to look either scarred or evil. Even if those expressions were on their heads most didn't seem to know where they were.
Don't have a crazy AO, there use to be these male AO's that made the guys pace in circles like they were Gorillas wanted to kill someone, biggest problem was they walked through anyone near them including walls. I can't film a close up of your pretty mesh heads if you moving all over the place, so in most cases those are filmed with AO's off. Also if you are in the background of a scene a person moving all over is very distracting and hard to sync clips together when editing. So even if you need to open your AO and extract 1 animation to use that keeps you calm do it, at least while filming.
I've gotten a lot of great review of my latest movie
Motel Peeper and it's all about the acting, actors and editing!! Even when I try to do a "simple" movie I usually pile one extra ideas (Like a fat boy at an all you can eat buffet) I seem to like torturing myself when it's time to editing. But remember my mindset is that these are Animated Adult Movies that I want to be viewed by everyone not just my friends in Second Life.
Avatars in 2017 don't look like they did in 2011, so we shouldn't be making movies the same way we did back then either.
