I won, I actually won!!

3 years 11 months ago I started in porn!!

When I found out about the Sexiest Awards my first year I knew I wanted one. Actress, Director, Movie or OMG could you imagine Lifetime. The first awards I knew about seemed like a completely elite group, if your name wasn’t Serenity or weren’t in her movies you couldn’t win! It was movies only then and they gave away awards for it seems 16 category’s and 10 of those were the job of the director so it seemed like Serenity herself won 10 awards that night and her cast won the other 6. I know I’m probably exaggerating and don’t have my numbers right, 4 years ago was a while back and I’m not even sure where those numbers are kept!!

I just remember wanting one of those awards and was sure I would never get one!!

This year’s awards seemed like they would never happen and it was getting to late to care about 2014! I didn’t care if I had won or lost I was sure I hadn’t but was curious to find out who did win just so we could all say “congratulations!”

Last week Emma contacted me about moving the Saturday party to the Sexiest Awards and she made sure to say “I hope you’re coming Sunday… I know you’ll leave happy!”. I think I let that go the first time, the second time I wrote back “Now you are going to have me disappointed if I don’t win best director or best movie”. Her reply to that was something like, “I can’t guaranty anything!” so I thought, “Oh great I’m getting the Old Fart Award! :(” You know the one they give out at the Oscars to the one that has been around for like FOREVER and can never win one on their own merits, like a pity award!

During the making of Legs Wide Spread (LWS), which took most of 2014, I kept saying “I better win a sexiest award for this damn thing!” and here it looked like I still wasn’t, just the “Old Fart Award”. It looked like my chances were probably over because I’m not entering Intergalactic SLUTS for 2015, it’s a series like Game of Thrones, Walking Dead or True Blood not a movie like Jurassic World. You wouldn’t pick one episode of Game of Throne and enter it in the Oscars. So instead I’ll probably enter 1 of the 5 “fun” movies I plan to make this year, which probably have no chance of winning, just a nomination would be nice.

Then I started thinking about the “Old Fart Award” the one I didn’t want, sure I wanted it at some point in my porn career but more at the end, not in the middle or in my prime! But the more I thought about it I decided it probably was the better award of the 3. You see best Movie and best Director were based off of one project; a professional could probably come in SL make a single 4 minute video and win them both and never be seen again. Whereas the Lifetime Achievement award takes time and is a look at your body of work not a 4 minute video that took 3 days to produce. So yes I am proud to win that award!!

Best Director, best Movie, Yes I wanted those both badly, it’s one thing to say “I’m the best director, I make the best movies!” but another to have the hardware to back it up!! It’s something that can never be taken away and I’m so happy to have just won them once!!

So to all of you out there that think you have no chance, keep trying and it could just happen!!

The Sexiest® Award's are over!!

I had not planned on writing this, but since I made such a stink about these awards and gave them so much press time I figured I should finish the story and put it to bed now that it is over.

I'll start out by pissing a bunch of you off right away!! For the first time photo's were included in The Sexiest® Awards and I don't think they should have been!! I feel like I know most everyone active in SL porn, but there were several people at the awards I never seen or heard of before, turned out they were nominees in photography.

Over on The Pornstar's blog Serenity has The Sexiest® picture of the day and then a poll for The Sexiest® picture of the month, that should be enough!! If they want to hold a party and pick The Sexiest® picture of the Year, that would be great, but come on pictures get enough recognition and there are thousands and thousands of them, how do you narrow it down to just one? Everyone has different taste in art, you could make a case that probably 50 of those pictures should have won!! So 49 people should be pissed off and 1 very happy!!

Since I don't think photos should have been involved let's look at the nominees and winners in the movie category's.

Emma Starr Chant (emmamaystar) Won this, I have absolutely nothing against Emma, the times I have talked to her I have found her very nice and hott. My problem is she has yet to be in a movie so that alone would remover her from my nominees. My other problem is that this is judged on a single project (movie or photo) that has been submitted instead of the body of work the nominee had done over the course of the year. So it doesn't matter if one has been in 1 photo or 1,000 photos and 20 movies, they are just judging 1 submittal. Since the judges are not suppose to be from porn they don't realize how difficult it is to be in 1,000 photos and 20 movies, they are just looking at one piece of work and I find that very wrong!! 

Again nothing against Emma, I just don't like the judging critieria!!

Again this award didn't matter if you were in one 5 minute movie where all you did was ride a pose ball for 3 minutes or in 30 movies, one of which was 100 minutes long!! They are just looking at one piece of work, but then again so does the RL Oscars!!

Thorgal McGillivary - Creep. Won this, I have absolutely nothing against Thorgal, infact I was in constant contact with him through out the awards show that he was the MC of. I was impressed he was IMing me between categorys even. I think he well deserved this award because of his body of work, not for just this movie (in which he wore a clown face for all of it, clowns are sexy)!!

Toys in the Attic - Thorgal McGillivary.  Won this, I really saw this as a 3 horse race, between me, Adam Sin and Thorgal. So I had no problem if either Adam or Thorgal won, they both are stand out directors, that I look at their work for my own inspiration!!

Fuck you all the time - London Zane. Won this, I have absolutely nothing against London, this was a well crafted movie, I just don't think it should have been in the same category as a movie like The Abduction of Alicia Haze - Adam Sin. . It should have been in a short film or music video category!! A lot more work/time goes in to a 21:27 minute movie compared to a 5:45 minute music video, and I find it a shame that Adam walked away with just a couple nominee trophy's

The Sexiest® Award invitations

Well I have never been to the The Sexiest®  Awards  it's by invitation only and I have never submitted anything so never been nominated!!
This year I was nominated in 3 category's, I figured they at least would hand out a ticket for each nomination, in my case 3 tickets!! I have two women that very much would like to go (more then I would)!!

But then the rule is 1 ticket no matter how many nominations you got. So in looking at the nominations list I see 9 category's 5 nominees for each except best story has just 4, that equals out to 44 tickets if no one got double nomination!! But there were, for example Raelin and I both received 3 nominations, and many got double nominations, so if those people all got just 1 ticket the crowd goes from 44 down to just 30 people. I really doubt just the 30 nominees will be in the audience, an army of judges that don't know anything about SL Porn will be there to and I do look forward to meeting each one of them!!!

I have 3 nominations give me 3 tickets!! Do we really all just have to sit alone together like a elite group of porn makers?

The best story usually mimics best film, and why? Well, they are almost one in the same. I think this category is more designed for having a different writer and director, and not them be the same person!!! I have nothing against this category, just that it shouldn't have just 1 of the best film nominees in it, and a preview should not be considered a story!!

How did Succubus get nominated in this category but not in best film you ask? Well apparently there were less movies submitted in this category and the judges for it had enough time to judge it. It's good enough for best director & story it should be good enough for best film!!!

Two more things, why only 4 were nominated for this category is unclear, from what I have heard there were more then 4 entries. The second is I also heard Succubus should not be nominated in this category because it wasn't original. Well, it's an adapted screen play, just like movies made from books (most of the popular movie out right now) and since there wasn't a category for adapted screen play I entered it here.

Most couldn't even comprehend what it takes to take a full length movie and cut 1/2 of it out and add 50 minutes of sex to it!! Oh yea it seems real simple cut 10 minutes out of it in 5 place!! But to cut 50 minutes out of it and keep the story intact is an horrific amount of work!! Every second counts in that type of editing.

I don't get off on SL porn  (I prefer the real thing) I look at this more as art and story telling, so it's sad to see a director believes most just skip the story to get to the action. The hundreds of IM's from fans telling me how much they enjoy my movies and the story's they tell say it's not just the action people want to see.

So yes, Succubus should be in this category and even win!!

Now I'm not really a fan of this category, for the reason I see it more as a beauty pageant or a popularity contest and not a judgement of any kind of acting skills!! Lets face it most porn in SL is hoping on a pose ball and letting the director position you in a sex scene how they want you!!

In RL the winner for best actress is usually a woman that changes her physical appearance to fit her role (so that throws beauty pageant out the window), or give her lines with passion and conviction (so that throws ball riders out the window too).

Succubus had 50 minutes of non-sex in it (more then the total length of the other 4 movies combined), as Zoey put it, "It was as close to acting as we can get in SL". The sex scenes are easy to shoot, the non sex scene (no pose balls) take twice as long to shoot.

So I should win for Succubus, and if I don't I certainly hope that Leannan does because I directed that movie and she did fantastic in following direction and making her avi do what I wanted to give this movie a story!! MILF and Cookies took as long to shoot the non-sex scenes as the sex secenes and the non-sex were a fraction of the movie, but gave it a story.

I also think Leannan's voice work in The Abduction of Alicia Haze was fantastic and really made that movie!!!

Is a preview (teaser) of a movie Nikki had in the works to make but as of yet hasn't. There is no sex or even nudity in this, it's not even porn!! This would get a PG-rating and only because it shows a butt in a thong and for no other reason!! Wait until Nikki makes this a MOVIE before nominating it!!

Artistically done, this movie is a Demo clip for a Warm Animations bed!! In other words IT'S A COMERCIAL and has no story of any kind!! If "Story" was any part of the judging criteria the judges completely failed on this.

To me this movie stands head and shoulders above the other 4 and is clearly the winner!! Congratulations Adam!!

Before the nominees were announced I fully expected The Abduction of Alicia Haze - Adam Sin.  (21:27)  and Creep - Thorgal Mcgillivary (4:40) (or whichever one of Thorgals movies he wanted to submit) to be SUCCUBUS, The motion picture (1:43:30) biggest competition in the category!! I did not expect a preview video and a commercial to get nominated!!

I know October isn't from porn so she probably didn't know, but Emma is and she should have weeded out the movies that didn't belong.

I do hope the judges get it right when they hand out this award!! It would be so appalling if a preview A Blank Canvas - Nikki Arlington won this category!!!

Succubus was to long to judge in this category, for the winner of this award it has to loose some of it's luster knowing it didn't beat the best of the best (Succubus), they should rename this award to: The Sexiest® Best Film... Not Succubus.

Succubus, To Long To Judge

No Sexiest Film Nomination for Succubus!!!

This is the first time of over 100 movies I submitted any work for The Sexiest® Awards. With Succubus I felt I really had something worth nominating and could not be over looked!! I WAS SO WRONG!!

When I asked head Judge October Bettencourt of The Sexiest® Awards, why Succubus wasn't nominate in the category of The Sexiest®  Best Film, she said "To be honest, it was to long, the judges had to many movies in that category and just didn't have time to watch it". I thank her for her honesty.

The Sexiest® Awards are self proclaimed to be: "our Oscars". Could you imagine the Oscar judges saying "We're sorry your movie was to long to judge"? I know it's not Emmanuelle's goal to discourage people from making longer movies, but how can they leave out a movie because of it's length? Well, really it shouldn't be judged against the movies that were watched and were nominated! If you know anything about film making you know that a Feature Length film should not be judged against a Short Film. We don't go to the RL movies and pay around $10:00 to watch a movie 25:00 minutes or less. We go to watch something that can entertain us for an hour and a half or more!!

As you can see none of these films were over 22:00 minutes and Blank Canvas wasn't even the length of Succubus credits. These films fall into Short Film category at the RL Oscars.
 
SUCCUBUS, The Motion Picture (1:43:30)

Succubus is 1 hour, 43 minutes & 30 seconds long! It's like comparing a cheetah to a domestic house cat... it just can't be done and would be rediculas to even try!!

Succubus had 19 sets built for it, a cast of over 60, we completely changed how we did movies for this one, we had to preplan, preplan, preplan and we still found many things we hadn't planned on. Four months ahead rearranged my schedule to shoot movies so that I had something to release while Succubus was in production. Production took 3 months from adapting the script to uploading the full length version. Six weeks of filming 4 days a week on average of 4 hours per day (96 hours total). There was also 9 weeks of editing that took around 24 hours per week (216 hours). In between time was spent on set design, building and detailing. This movie had 50 minutes of nonsex scenes (ACTING) in it, not just ball riding. Six sex scenes in it of which all were longer then 4 of the 5 movies nominated!!!

So for that reasoning, I understand why October and Emmanuelle want to give Succubus The Sexiest®  Best of the Best Film award!!! Which I agree is only right!!!

SUCCUBUS. The Motion Picture

Submitted in 4 categories: The Sexiest®FILM, The Sexiest®DIRECTOR, The Sexiest®ACTRESS and The Sexiest®STORY.
Well this is the first time I have ever submitted any work for The Sexiest® Awards, not that I didn't think me or my work was good enough, more that I felt the deck was stacked against me!!!

With SUCCUBUS I feel it stands head and shoulders above anything  made this year, possible above anything ever made on Second Life!!! It will be very hard to ignore, I just hope the judges watch the whole thing and comprehend the work that went in to a movie of it's EPIC size!!!

19 set were built and used for this, we spent 6 1/2 weeks filming and 8 weeks editing. Several of the stars of this I had never meet before the casting call and were virtually unknowns, 60 people including the extras were in this movie.
The sex scenes were the easiest to shoot .The non sex scenes took some times 1 hour for 1 minute in the final film cut, those parts I would call actual acting not pose ball riding and were the most difficult and rewarding parts of the movie.

SUCCUBUS. The Motion Picture

An Indie rock band wants to make it big; they think the only way to do that is to get in with Satan. They come to this small town to sacrifice a virgin in his name, but Jennifer is not a virgin, instead it unleashes a sex crazed “Fuck you to death” demon that needs to feed.
